An experiment in generating Gain Map HDR for an ordinary JPEG while preserving its SDR rendering and separating format compatibility from visual judgement.
First make HDR visible to the device; only then ask whether it looks natural.
- Supports single or batch JPEGs, strength control, failure isolation and output validation.
- The SDR image keeps its composition and grade while the Gain Map extends displayable highlight relationships.
- Apple Photos and real Xiaohongshu workflows remain separate acceptance gates, not substitutes for automated checks.
